Everyone deserves access to healthy food
Find out why Oak Cliff is a food desert and how you can help change that.
The Challenge
Oak Cliff, a large and diverse area in the southern part of Dallas, is home to many low-income Black and Brown residents who lack access to healthy food sources, including fresh produce and nutritious meals.
Spanning over 54% of Dallas’s land mass and housing more than 200,000 residents, Oak Cliff is considered a food desert.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, this designation refers to “low-access communities” where at least 33% of the population lives more than one mile from a supermarket.
Our Mission
The mission of FEED Oak Cliff is to create a healthy community where everyone has access to quality, fresh and affordable food choices in their neighborhoods.
